Building ME Retreat

Open Mic

No matter what your age, youth or young at heart, Open Mics are a great way to generate creativity and bring communities together. Come share your thoughts, art, poetry, spoken word or readings. Open Mics can include anything as long as it’s cool with the Being ME organizers. It’s referred to as “open” because anyone and everyone can sign up so long as there’s time. Come join our Open Mic session - Its Creative, Its Eclectic and definitely Thought Provoking!

Children Conference

Being Me Toronto has a jam-packed day of innovative & exciting activities designed so your child will be inspired to rise to their greatest potential! Don't forget to enrol your kids aged 4-10 in the children's conference! Tickets are only $20 and your children will benefit greatly from the knowledge and real-world skills they will be taught in the workshops! (Please note: entrance to the conference is free for Children under 10, the payment of 20 is only for the Childrens Conference itself).

Being ME’s Muslimah Leaders’ Summit is bringing together Muslimah Leaders from the community in effort to enable better dialogues and progressive action. Quality conversation helps us rise above social challenges, lifts engagement and accelerates growth. By raising the involvement level, driving innovation and measuring the impact of responsible action, we could ensure a more sustainable, equitable and prosperous future for all. Leader In Training

A 6 week training program designed for girls between the ages of 11 and 16 to help develop their leadership potential and provide them with opportunities to learn, grow and connect. This program will connect youth (mentees) with experienced professionals working with Being ME (mentors).

Alternate Language Sessions

This year we are looking at specific alternate language sessions in Bangla, Somali and Dari to cater to our diverse, multilingual community based on requests from community.

Quran Competition

Being ME Toronto Presents: Qur'an Competition 2020! Bring your most beautiful recitation and compete for the chance to recite at Being ME 2020 and receive 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prizes! The Qur’an Competition will be judged on Tajweed skills only (not memorization), and competitors must be able to read both Arabic & English fluently This is a sisters only event.
